"The Frozen Fight"

The 1st (Carter's) Tennessee Cavalry Regiment was assigned to General Williams' Cavalry Brigade from Aug. 1863 till Feb. 1864. The Battle of Jonesville happened on Jan. 3, 1864.

This is the Dickinson - Milburne House in Jonesville, VA. Much of the fighting during the Battle of Jonesville took place around this house, which was on the outskirts of the town at the time. Federals of the 16th Illinois Cavalry surrendered in the field behind the house.
